Structural Assessment of Fluorine in Calcium Silicates: Focusing on the Viscosity of CaO-SiO_2-CaF_2 System

摘要

Because the viscosity of the calcium silicate melts is very important in process metallurgy, many researchers have tried to find the relationship between the viscosity and the structure of molten slag. However, in case of fluorine containing system, the structural role of F" ions has not fully been understood yet. Therefore, in the present paper, the methodologies for the exploration of the structure of CaO-SiQ2-CaF_2 system such as spectroscopic analyses (Infrared (IR), Raman, X-ray Photoelectron (XPS), and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and electronic polarizability measurement have been reviewed, especially focused on the experimental composition in each study. In addition, the iso-viscosity lines of this slag system at 1873 K are reconstructed based on the experimental data.
