The following conclusions can be drawn from our research: ⅰ). Based on newly developed heat transfer technology---Thermepump, a novel Thermopump Temperature and Level Probe (TTL Probe) for measuring the temperature of highly corrosive environments at elevated temperatures has been proposed, designed and tested, ⅱ). The corrosion-resistance capability of the TTL Probe in some harsh environment has been shown by lab and plant test results. Tight correlations among a number of the measured factors and target factors have been shown by many tests. In a narrow range, a linear relationship can normally be used, ⅲ). The response time of the Probe can match that of a 'typical' thermocouple. The Probe can respond to environment temperature changes in lor 2 seconds. ⅳ). Two plant trials of steel temperature and level measurement in tundishes are expected to be done in next 6 months ⅴ). The Probe can also be used to measure continuously the liquid metal's density and surface tension at the same time.
