As the demand for high-quality steel continues to increase, the ladle refining process has become increasingly important recently to obtain molten steel with the suitable composition and cleanness. Precise control of the inclusion composition and the reduction of the sulfur content of steel are very important. However, the reaction in ladle treatment is complex because many reactions among the molten steel, added alloy elements, slag and refractory occur simultaneously and mechanism of changes in the composition of inclusions is not fully understood yet.
