Recently, quality demands have risen particularly among special steel customers. One of the demands is elimination of surface defect on ends of the products. To satisfy quality demand of final customers, causes of defect generation were investigated and various measures in producing and instruction process were taken. As a result, incidence of the defect has been decreased and the yield has been improved. This report is focused on the most effective measures.
