摘要

Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) rely on an ionic hole conducting liquid electrolyte, usually an iodine solution. However, this results ins electrode corrosion and is subject to liquid leakage. Replacing the ionic liquid with a solid state polymer electrolyte circumvents leakage and temperature degradation. We have developed a roll-to-roll (R2R) slot-die coating tool to replace spin coating as a technique to make thin film DSSCs in the solid state. By implementing R2R manufacturing of our inverse geometry solar cells, manufacturing cost as well as processing time can be drastically reduced.
