摘要

Rapid, reliable, and inexpensive systems for the monitoring of toxic gases are required for safety and environmental compliance. Seacoast Science has developed a miniature gas chromatograph compatible with the restrictive size, power, and weight limits for field use or industrial monitoring situations. Seacoast's proprietary chemical sensors use several polymer-filled, micromachined capacitors on a single chip to measure the dielectric constant of an array of selectively absorbing materials. This array provides the core detection technology and allows the use of ambient air as the carrier gas. The system is designed to allow air or direct liquid injection sampling prior to the GC column. For the detection of low-vapor pressure compounds, an integrated chemical preconcentrator can be placed prior to the capillary column. The system can separate and detect a range of analytes (common volatile organic compounds, solvents, and chemical warfare agents). Technical specifications and performance data will be presented.
