Research on hydraulic treatment of potentially outburstable seams has been carried out in Russia since 1957.Academician A.A.Skochinsky is a founder of this scientific trend and the first practical results were achieved under his leadership.In 1960 at Karagandinsky coal basin the first bore hole was driven to the coal seam from surface.The bore hole was equipped to inject water into the coal seam.The work was headed by an ndergraduate,Noszkin N.V.,who went through the complete operational process to obtain methane from the coal seam.Later on professor Noszkin N.V.and his followers and colleagues carried out research and production work using hydraulic treatment of coalbed of methane.Their primary aims were secure labour safety of mines and better recovery output.In recent years more and more attention is being paid in Russia to removal of methane to be used for energy production.Thus problem is of great economic and environmental value[1].
