Wetting and dispersing agents for pigments,blowing agents in plasticisers pastes / PVC-plastisols

Various key measures have been driving the development of new wetting and dispersing agents for pigments,blowing agents and fillers.Stable systems are required when dispersing the solid particles in plasticisers or PVC-plastisols.Next to the right selection of the pigments,blowing agents and fillers,the use of the right wetting and dispersing agent could bring excellent improvements with regard to reduced viscosity of the plasticiser paste or PVC-plastisol,reduced dispersion time,higher loading of solid particles,improved color strength and reduction of the sedimentation.Many people in the industry are using pigments in plasticiser as a liquid colourant in order to dye PVC-plastisols,rigid PVC or soft PVC.Blowing agents in plasticisers are widely used in various applications of PVC-plastisols like wall coverings.In this paper,the composition and performance of several new wetting and dispersing agents will be discussed and their differences in typical application will be highlighted.
