EXPLOITING THE CAPABILITIES OF REACTIVE POWER GENERATION AND ABSORPTION OF WIND GENERATORS FOR BETTER POWER SYSTEM OPERATION

The Government of India has plans of integrating 175 GW of renewables by 2022, the share of wind being 60 GW. There are several EHV and UHV transmission schemes under "Green energy corridor" by the Central Transmission of Utility and state transmission utilities for integration of renewable energy in to the power system and also facilitate flow of power from renewable - rich states to those states, which are not blessed with renewable resources.
