Sao Paulo it is the largest city in Brasil. It has registered a population growth of not much more than 800 000 residents in the last decade-in 2000 had 10.4 million inhabitants, today has 12.3 million. Refering to changes in the urban occupancy and population distribution, a growth were located in some areas more than others. The dynamics of urban occupancy, points to a problem materialized in this space, and there are no clear definitions of what to do with it. The disordered occupation became a reality with which the Utilities need to deal. In some urban regions, provide the overhead transmission lines "right of way" safeguards against harmful invasions, became a difficult task, almost impossible to avoid. The Sao Paulo Electrical Energy Utility (AES Eletropaulo) facing this reality with one of its installations decided to underground one overhead transmission line, installed more than 40 years ago. In fact, the Utility has maintained the OHL disconnect in the last 10 years due to its critical situation. The future underground transmission line implantation will have two circuits and a power capacity of 200 MVA in 88 kV. The existing overhead transmission line has two circuits in a Right of Way of 3.00 km long and 5.00 meters width at the time of the OHL installation, having 40 (fourty) metallic towers. The Right of Way has many areas, that along the years was enclosed by buildings and several species of vegetation, improperly implanted. Even the deployment of public roads in the region covered by the OHL made it stay irregularly deployed. The paper will describe the activities developed for the purpose of consolidating the informations required by municipal management, necessary for environmental studies, the underground occupation project, signaling civil works project and changes of traffic rules, studies of magnetic field flux density mitigation and other specific demands related to the type of installation.
