Mirror requirements for SAFIR

Large-aperture lightweight low-cost cryogenic mirrors are an enabling technology for planned infrared, far-infrared and sub-millimeter missions such as CMB-POL, SAFIR, TPF-I and SPECS. This paper examines the mirror requirements for such telescopes and issues associated with their design, manufacture and test. Candidate mirrors must be able to survive launch and operate at temperatures below 10K.
