PANI composite based on multiwall carbon nanotube grafted with poly(styrenesulfonic acid) (PSSA) was synthesized through template-based polymerization. Grafting of PSSA on MWCNT was performed through radical polymerization of SSNa. Polymerization of PANI was carried out through the chemical oxidative polymerization using redox initiator. After polymerization, the strands of PANI and PSSA are inter-winded or otherwise closely associated. The composite exhibited excellent capacity at high voltage scanning rate. This result from hydrophilicity of the composite and water uptaken ability by introduction of sulfonyl groups at the end of side chains. The capacitive behavior was due to both electrical double layer capacity and pseudo-capacity of redox reaction. Thermal stability was enhanced by the introduction of MWCNT. Structural and morphological analysis of composite was performed through WAXD and TEM.
