This paper deals with application of crystalline polyester film to laminated steel sheet, substitution for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) laminated one, for interior building material. Non-oriented crystalline polyester films were thermally analyzed by means of differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and tested embossing property, and polybuthylene terephthalate (PBT) film was selected because of its excellent embossing performance. Characteristics of PBT laminated steel sheet, for interior building use, were compared with commercial PVC and polyorefin laminated steel sheet. The PBT laminated steel sheet can be applicable for interior building use, since it has the same characteristics as PVC laminated steel sheet.
