A new TBC system with EQ bond coating for advanced Ni-base single crystal superalloys has been developed. The alumina interface formations between YSZ top coat and EQ bond coat were carried out. The uniform and thin alumina layer on the surface of EQ bond coat was formed by pre-oxidation method and the thick alumina coating layer was also formed by EB-PVD. The thermal cycle test of these TBC samples was carried out. The result of this test was indicated that the TBC with pre-oxidation had better thermal cycle characteristics than the TBC with alumina coating layer.
