In the present work, spectral direct-beam radiation recorded at two different locations has been used, one in the city center of Athens, Greece, and another in the city of Budapest, Hungary. The measurements were performed using a commercial spectroradiometer during September under clear-sky conditions and different air pollution loads. The study of the spectral radiation and spectral aerosol optical depth in the UV range is the subject of this work. The analysis showed that the UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface depends strongly on the load of the aerosol in the atmosphere.
