Materials suitable for rotomolding now may include plastic materials historically not considered for the process. Experience from the automotive industry with "slush" molding of cryogenically ground polymeric materials for instrument panel skins offers a potential opportunity to expand rotomolding capabilities and applications. "Slush" molding is very similar to rotomolding and has many of the same material requirements for particle size distribution and particle shape. Cryogenic grinding offers particle size distribution and particle shape enabling these new materials to process without bubbles or porosity. The new materials for consideration include, Thermoplastic Urethane(TPU), Thermoplastic Rubber(TPR), TPU/PVC Alloys, and TPR/PVC Alloys.
