Genesis of Rock Bursts in Collieries and its Controlling Factors Under Deep Mining Condition

As the mining depth increasing, the hazards of rock bursts in collieries become more and more badly. In this paper, the characteristics and hazards of rock bursts are briefly described, the genesis of rock bursts in collieries is summarized and its controlling factors such as lithological characters, in situ stress, rock mass structures and mining technical conditions that can influence the occurrence of rock bursts are discussed and analyzed. Finally, based on the modern nonlinear theories accompanied with the development of modern geology and rock mechanics, it discusses and looks into the prospective development tendency of mechanism of rock bursts under the deep mining conditions associated with high stress.
