THE ASQ CERTIFIED CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN EXAM PROGRESS REPORT: FROM INCEPTION TO MATURITY

The American Society for Quality (ASQ) board of directors approved the Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) exam sponsored by the ASQ's Measurement Quality Division on May 2002 at the American Quality Congress in Denver, Colorado. Since then, two exams have been administered in the year 2003 throughout the country with the third and fourth one slated for May and June 2004. This paper provides the progress report on the exam development, the CCT Body of Knowledge (BOK) and study resources, exam pass/fail statistics, industry interest and future exam development process. The Measurement Quality Division's involvement and volunteer opportunities for future exam development are discussed.
