All-involvement Innovation: Case Study of TCL Air-conditioner (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd

The scope of innovation management is integrated with incremental improvement and radical innovation, new product development and management process re-engineer. Innovation is no more the business of specialists, but asks for all staffs' involvement. All staffs from marketing, manufacturing and R&D functions to customer service, administration, and financial department, etc., can be a super innovator by continuous learning and hard-work, and the high performance can be achieved by effective and total management for all-involvement innovation (AII). This article focuses on the study of the idea and mode of AII management by case study of the implementation of "All-around Improvement Project (AIP)" in TCL Air-conditioner (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd (TCLA). And four innovation-conducted transformations idea in the process of AII are brought forward for the management of AII. This paper can be divided into four sections: 1) introduction; 2) literature review; 3) the introduction of TCLA and its AIP; 4) AII, focusing on the 4 ideas of AII-conducted transformations are made in TCLA; 5) conclusion and the further research directions.
