Studies on the Removal Performance of Gaseous Contaminants on Room Fresheners (Part 3) The Removal Performance on Offensive Odors

Room fresheners are popular as a countermeasure product because they can be easily brought into the room by the user. However, there has been no scientific quantitative research related to their chemical substance removal performance. In a past research, we have been determing the formaldehyde and VOCs removal performance of spray-type room fresheners in an environmental chamber. The present study aimed at determing the ammonia removal performance of room fresheners. The results showed that room fresheners could remove chemical substances such as ammonia, and their performance was very low compared with other air cleaning products such as room air cleaners.
