Even minor quantity of organic acid (carboxylic acid) such as acetic acid and formic acid in indoor air environment leads to various problems in art museums. Due to these problems, organic acid concentration in indoor air has been often limited under certain levels in such facilities and is expected to diminish during construction process. The measuring method of organic acid concentration in indoor air had only the chemical analysis. For these tasks, a simple organic acid detector has been newly developed by the authors. The objectives in this study are: to characterize the performance of the Detector tube, and to examine applicability and accuracy in comparison with traditional deliberate method. As a results of experiment, following conclusions are obtained: l) Detector tube that measured minor quantity organic acid easily was developed. 2) Good relations for in standard gas and detector tube. 3) Good relations could get the method of museum (Monitor for environment) for indoor air quality and detector tube. 4) The correlation of the detector tube and method for chemical analysis became a high result.
