Land Development Pattern of Public Traffic Priority — Transit Oriented Development

Reasonable urban planning and transit priority are very helpful in solving the traffic problems. The transit oriented development (TOD) is an innovative land development pattern and combines the traffic with the land use. Concentrated mixed-use land development is advocated around the transit station. The transit plays a leading role in the urban traffic through the construction of transit communities. The funding for rail traffic can be solved and the city development is oriented and the structure is optimized through TOD of rail traffic. This is meaningful and has significant practical values for Chinese cities. Some proposes are presented for the implement of TOD in China.
