The Application of High Voltage Static Air Purifier to Clear Dust and Kill Bacteria in Center Air-condition System

An air cleaner employing the technology of high voltage static electricity cold, plasma was designed and the dust-clearing and bacteria-killing mechanism of the air cleaner was studied in this paper. Some measurements were carried out to test its performance in laboratory and real building through installed it in center air-condition system. The result showed that the air cleaner had the bacteria removing efficiency exceeding 96% in the experiment system with 2.0 m/s wind speed and 86 % dust removing efficiency in office room. In this paper, it is recommend that the high voltage static electricity air cleaner is suitable to clearing the exhaust air from the center air-condition system and to preventing the cross infection of SARS.
