DISINFECTION OF LIVE PREY FOR FISH LARVAL FEEDING USING OX-AQUACULTURE~R

摘要

Disinfection is a basic hygienic procedure with a great importance in all the processes involved in live prey production and larval rearing and it is a good alternative to the use of antibiotics. In order to test a hydrogen peroxide-based commercial product, Ox-Aquaculture (OA), to control undesired bacterial growth in the live feed, several experiments were carried out with rotifers and newly hatched Artemia nauplii before enrichment. To produce a practical protocol applicable at industrial scale, short time (60 min maximum) and high dose of the product were considered as paramount.
