THE ANNUAL EVOLUTION OF GLUCOSE AND THE SPECIFIC ACTIVITY OF HEPATIC PYRUVATE KINASE IN GILTHEAD SEA BREAM (SPARUS AURATA)

Changes in the levels of plasmatic glucose have been observed in several teleost species (Gutierrez et al., 1987; Boujard y Leatherland, 1992; Boujard et al., 1993; Pavlidis et al., 1997). However, if these changes are due to dietary or endogenous origin and carry a metabolic response, is unclear. Thus, the aim of this study is to analyse the annual variations in the glucose levels in blood and the kinetic's hepatic pyruvate kinase and if these changes present an annual cycle.
