INVESTIGATIONS OF CHAMELEA GALLINA, L. (MOLLUSCA, VENERIDAE RAFINESQUE, 1815) ALONG THE BULGARIAN BLACK SEA COAST

In Black Sea the sand mussel Chamelea gallina (Linne, 1758) is distributed everywhere on sand and sand-mud sediment on depth from 5 to 30 meters. The general heap established from 5 to 8 meters. The mussels reach average length from 19 to 22 millimeter in particular places. In the present paper the authors give data for total and industrial stock of Chamelea gallina in seven places along the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, as well as collected attendant zoobenthos species.
