Interest in polymer nanocomposites has significantly increased in recent years. Material performance improvement includes better mechanical properties, lower water absorption, and reduced flammability.1-4 All organic polymeric materials are based on carbon as the essential element. They also contain hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen and to a lesser extent sulphur, fluorine, and chlorine. These materials undergo thermal degradation if exposed to severe thermal environment such as fire.
