摘要

Photopolymerization of monofunctional or multifunctional monomers is a powerful method to obtain an instant transformation of a liquid resin into a solid polymer.By exposing a monomer for a short period of time to an intense UV light, large amounts of free radicals are generated at once, and initiate an instant polymerization. For characterization of photopolymerization kinetics, real time FT-IR spectroscopy is a promising tool to follow reactions that occur in even less than second. Conversion - time curves are obtained by monitoring disappearance of a reactive group, for example, acrylate double bond =CH out-of-plane bending mode.
