摘要

In this work, we present some new effects in condensed matter induced by intense electronic excitations such as production and evolution of damage in pure metals, ion track formation at the surface of HOPG as well as phase change in atom-mixed materials. All these experimental results suggested that dense electron excitations could induce atomic displacements leading to bulk damage, sufficient ion irradiation fluence and intense electronic energy deposition are two key parameters for phase transformation of a material under energetic ion irradiations.
