An experimental investigation was undertaken to study the behavior of wax-solvent mixtures between the wax appearance temperature (WAT) and the wax disappearance temperature (WDT). The prepared wax-solvent mixtures comprised 6-22 mass% of a paraffinic wax (C-(20)-C-(40)) dissolved in n-hexadecane (C-(16)) and a commercial paraffinic solvent (C-(11)-C-(15)), Norparl 3. In addition to measuring WDT and WAT for all wax-solvent mixtures, the wax solubility and the liquid phase composition were also measured at temperatures between WDT and WAT.
