Scroll Compressors with Vapour Injection in Heat Pumps and Commercial Equipment

The economiser cycle as applied to scroll compressors is described, together with a description of the internal components. The theoretical and actual gains in capacity and COP using this cycle are compared for various refrigerants. Field experience with a supermarket refrigeration system and a heat pump system are presented.
