Dwindling supplies of conventional energy supplies combined with increased energy demand and the need for cleaner burning fuels have caused an unprecedented increase in global demand for liquefied natural gas. In meeting the increased demand, new LNG projects can benefit from the economies of scale and improved efficiencies achievable from larger train sizes. Liquefaction of natural gas is also a highly energy intensive process. It is essential to design liquefaction processes that are energy efficient and cost effective.
