Fretting Wear and Fatigue in Overhead Electrical Conductor Cables

摘要

Fretting wear and fatigue damage induced by wind vibration in overhead power conductors has been investigated by metallographic and fractographic examination. It has been concluded that wear, corrosion and fatigue can each play a role in the degradation of cable, sometimes leading to complete failure.
