Continuous combined fuming-process of zinc slags and polymetallic raw materials

Schemes of zinc high-grade slags (15-18 percent Zn) continuous treating are considered. Process includes two stages: 1) continuous fuming (5-8 percent Zn in final slag) and 2) retreat of slags is realized with high extraction of zinc and copper (up to 90-98 percent) in metalthermal or electrochemical variants. Such reducers as Fe-Si, Fe-Al-Si, Al-Si alloys etc. are used in first variant. The second variant is carried out by means of oxide zinc reduction in electric furnaces with coke filter. Experimental data of both variants realization are presented. Examples of zinc high-grade materials direct processing (zinc cakes, 22 percent Zn) and low-grade zin-cous slags (about 6 percent Zn) processing by its filtration in coke filter with simultaneous high extraction of zinc, lead and copper are presented.
