Application of Pressure Hydrometallurgy in Nonferrous Metal Industry

In this paper, applications of pressure hydrometallurgy in nonferrous metals industry are briefly reviewed and the current situations of the technology at home and abroad are summarized. The new developments in china especially the works in BGRIMM(Beijing General Research Institute of Mining & Metallurgy) are introduced. For copper and zinc industry, an analysis on the advantages and economic benefits of pressure hydrometallurgy are given. This technology is suitable for treatment of complex sulphide ores, especially for ores in western remote areas of china. The application of this technology on traditional zinc hydrometallurgy with small invest, can reduce the cost of production, increase the recovery of zinc and improve economic benefits.
