The Optocantieri project: toward a synergy between Optoelectronics and Information Science for Cultural Heritage conservation

Optoelectronics and Information Science may usefully employed in conservation of artworks, providing a mutual benefit for the technology innovation in this field. In the Tuscany Region the Optocantieri project is pursuing this task, involving in a network a number of research centres, conservation institutions, restoration laboratories, high-technology producers and professional end-users. This article describes objectives, structure and preliminary results.
