摘要

We have performed studies to synthesize, purify, grow and analyse crystals of a novel class of halides for applications in nonlinear optics. Compounds of the stoichiometry Tl_3PbBr_5, were synthesized and crystals were grown. The homogeneity of bulk crystal was evaluated by studying bulk transparency, X-ray rocking curve and 2 theta-omega scans. The material of the compounds of Tl_3PbBr_5 composition showed self-poling during the growth.
