Gel polymer electrolytes(GPE) consisting of polyethylene glycol diacrylate(EGDA)), poly(vinylidene fluoride (VdF)/hexafluoropropylene (HFP)) and an electrolyte solution of 1M LiPF{sub}6 in ethylene corbonate(EC), LVS such as dimethyl carbonate (DMC), ethyl methyl carbonate(EMC), diethyl carbonate(DEC) were prepared and characterized by tensile elongation, ionic conductivity, transference number, electrochemical stability window and battery performance of PEGDA/PVdF-HFP blend electrolytes. This system was improved in a tensile elongation by 94%. It has a room temperature conductivity of c.a. 5×10{sup}(-3) S/cm and the conductivity versus temperature plot obeys an Arrhenius type variation. It has a good transference number (t{sup}+=0.5) and a stability window over 4.5V. Also, the full cell consisting of LiCoO{sub}2/Blend GPE/MCMB showed a good discharge capacity and cycle performance.
