NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENTS IN JSPL, INDIA

Product development is the process of creating, adapting or changing a product. Establishing the right product mix is crucial to the success of the company. JSPL is a 3.2 Mtpa capacity steel plant situated in Raigarh with additional production facilities at Angul and Patratu. JSPL's steel products is a diverse mix of rounds, billets, plates, coils, beams, channels, angles, rails, wire rods, bar rods etc. which cater to a wide range of customers in the steel market. From the widest flat products to a whole range of long products, JSPL today sports a product portfolio that caters to varied needs in the steel market. The company also has the distinction of producing the world's longest 121 metre rails and large size parallel flange beams for the first time in India. The paper elaborates on the management of new product development at JSPL and has shown exponential growth over the last few years.
