Cone penetration tests were conducted in model SCP grounds with different area replacement ratio, 0, 30, 50, 70 and 100%, in a geoteehnical centrifuge using a miniature cone penetrometer with diameter of 3mm. Tip resistance and shaft friction were measured in the test. Pressuremeter tests were also conducted in the SCP model ground in the centrifuge to examine the horizontal constrain effect in terms of coefficients of subgrade reaction of SCP composite ground with different area replacement ratio under cylindrical expansion condition. From the tests the effect of area replacement ratio on the cone tip resistance and shaft friction was confirmed, that is, the higher the replacement is, the larger the resistances. It was also found from the pressuremeter tests that the horizontal coefficient of subgrade reaction of SCP composite ground is affected by the area replacement ratio.
