In this paper, we have proposed novel frame formats to accompany our previously developed MAC protocols and concepts to make the realization of 4G systems possible. The notion of our region-based concept is extended over data packet layouts and their medium occupancy arrangements. The uplink and downlink frame formats were modified to have a local address as opposed to a machine-specific one. The advantage of using smart antenna arrays in 4G systems make these localization schemes more practicable. An average of ~5% improvements in bandwidth and delay are observed for both the delay sensitive and the delay insensitive case. Although, it is necessary to include the extra header bits for the delay sensitive case, it shows greater performance improvement in realistic cases where some of the machines in a regional network are inactive.
