This is a report on the status of the CATANA (Centro di AdroTerapia e Applicazioni Nucleari Avanzate) project at the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare-Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (INFN-LNS) in Catania (Italy), developing a new proton therapy facility for the treatment of ocular lesions with 62 AMeV proton beams from a Superconducting Cyclotron. All the elements on the CATANA beam line are ready and functioning, dosimetric tests have been concluded and the chair for the patient positioning and immobilization is ready, too. Actually we treated successfully twenty-six patients with ocular melanoma but we plan to improve the quality system of the treatments with a continuous upgrading of the proton beam line elements and of the dosimetric techniques.
