摘要

Although the High performance concrete (HPC) commonly use in the concrete industries, however it is still little of publication and study on regarding the most economic and efficient HPC mix for the hot tropical country. The following paper study on the HPC which can provide the high early & ultimate strength, high durability by incorporating in the silica fume, slag, fly ash and the superplasticiser to cater for the concreting under the hot climate in Malaysia. Eventhough under the hot tropical environment, by applying the appropriate curing method, with or without steaming, the designed HPC can attain cube strength > 30 Mpa at 14 hrs and the ultimate cube strength 70 MPa to 100 MPa at 28 day. No deteriorate of strength was encountered during the strength development from the age at 14 hrs upto 28 day age. The Rapid Chloride Penetration (RCP) test for the 28 day age or 56 day age, HPC indicated that the coulomb charge below 1,000. The water cement ratio was controlled as low as 0.270 to 0.357 by adjusting the appropriate dosage of superplasticiser and the binder. The produced HPC is a perfect choice to be used for the precast concrete industries, which require the high early strength for demoulding and transporting.
