The heat transfer and pressure drop performance of two micro-fin tubes were measured for condensation of R22 in the tubes. The test apparatus had a straight, horizontal test section with a length of 3.0 m and micro-fin tubes with outer diameters (OD) of 5 mm. The R22 condensation conditions were 44 to 45°C with inlet qualities of 100% and outlet temperatures of 43 to 43.5°C. The mass flux was between 200 and 450 kg/m~2s. The variation of the condensation rate and the pressure drop in the micro-fin tubes was measured as a function of refrigerant mass flux and the helix angles. The data was presented as the average heat transfer and pressure drop for the entire tube length.
