Photorewritable conducting polyaniline image was obtained by the photopolymerization of aniline derivatives for Flemion composite film containing Ru(bpy)_3~(2+) and TiO_2. The image was erased and regenerated by consecutive photoreduction and photooxidation via photoinduced electron transfer with TiO_2 and Ru(bpy)_3~(2+) in the composite film. This color change is so-called photoinduced electrochromism, different from photochromism. The conductivity change was also induced by the photoillumination because the color change was due to the change in the electronic state. Applications including novel device with this system were also discussed.
