We propose a model of production problem diagnosis and repair based on abstract factory physics characterizations, which can be applied to virtually any factory domain - automotive, electronic, or whatever. This model can then be used to both to support the user's diagnostic task, and to keep track of the current task state. This task state can then be used to provide the context for automatic access of task-relevant information for presentation to the user.
