A Study on Environmental Conditions and Occupational Health Hazards of Brass Factory Workers of Moradabad

Considerable work has been done to evaluate the workloads of the industrial male workers. Till date no study have been conducted which focuses the problems of the brass factory workers. Therefore, out of various units of brass factory-polishing unit was selected purposively. Only 33 physically fit workers on the basis of their performance in step stool test were selected. Various parameters selected in the study were the physiological cost of work and Climatic conditions. Experimental cum descriptive research design were used for collection of data. It was observed that heart rate raised up to 122 beats/min. during the peak work load, eg, the workload among workers ranged from light to heavy. The noise level exceeds up to 70db (A). Inadequate ventilation and lighting caused irritation in eyesight and reduced the output. Humidity and temperature were found high against the acceptable range. Because of poor working condition, most of the worker reported higher level of musculo skeletal problem when inquired.
