In this paper, we characterize the composition andflow paths of the low-temperature geothermal waters that discharge in the Manteigas-Nave de Santo Antonio-Torre region, situated in the mountainous terrain of Serra da Estrela (Central Portugal, Iberian Massif). Geologic, geomorphic, structural, hydrogeochemical, isotopic (~(18)O, ~(2)H and ~(3)H) and climatic information were used to develop a conceptual circulation model of the geothermal system. The model describes the origin of the fluids, the potential recharge sites and the depths of fluid circulation within the fractured granitic reservoir.
