摘要

The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) is a one kiloton heavy water Cherenkov detector sensitive to the flavor content of the ~8B neutrinos from the sun. Results from phase 1, the pure D_2O phase, of the experiment show evidence for neutrino flavor change as the solution of the solar neutrino problem at the 5.3 sigma level. The second phase of the experiment, where 0.2% NaCl solution is added to the D_2O, is underway. The benefits and drawbacks of adding salt are discussed. Finally plans for phase three of the experiment, where ~3He proportional counters will be deployed inside the D_2O, are reviewed.
