Geo-hazards around A Hydroelectric Plant in Three Gorges Reservoir Area

Geological hazards such as landslide, collapse, and debris-flow frequently occur in Three Gorges Reservoir area,.so it is a very practical and immediate environment job to explore the mechanism causing the geological hazards and to forecast and control the geological hazards. Based on the engineering geological work of one hydroelectric plant, this article analyzes the stability of geological formation in the research area, induced earthquake by reservoir, the fatalness of debris-flows, the landslides in the location of dam, and the stability of collapses etc. And this paper estimates the actuality of these different geological hazards interactively and forecasts their developing trends. Hereby, the rational suggestions are given which are on the choosing of the location of dam and the feasible schemes are put forward.
